Mr. Oran was born in 1956 in Kars. He graduated from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature of Erzurum Kazım Karabekir Institute of Education. Additionally, he attained a degree from the Banking and Commercial Law Research Institute and completed the Budgeting and Standard Costs specialization program at Istanbul University, Faculty of Business Administration, Institute of Accounting.
In 1974, he started his career as a civil servant in Türkiye Vakıflar Bankası Türk Anonim Ortaklığı (T.A.O.) (Turkish Foundations Bank Cooperation). In the meantime, he completed his Foreign Trade, English Language, Accounting and Bank Management education at the Banks Association of Turkey Education Center in 3 years and graduated with a very good degree.
He worked in almost every capacity during his 28-year banking career, of which 12 years was at Türkiye Vakıflar Bankası T.A.O. and 16 years was at Faisal Finans Katılım Bankası (Faisal Finans Participation Bank), from civil servant to Member of the Board of Directors.
Since 2003, he has been continuing his business life as the Chairman of the Board of Directors in the pharmaceutical companies, in which he is a partner. In addition, he continues to serve as the Chairman of the Assembly of ITO (the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce), the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Istanbul Ticaret University, a Member of the Board of Directors of TOBB (the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey), a Member of the Board of Directors of IEIS (the Turkish Pharmaceutical Industry Employers’ Union), and a Member of the Board of Directors of the KAI Foundation (Kars, Ardahan Iğdır Development Foundation). He speaks English.
In addition to all these, as of June 2015, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vakıf Katılım Bankası A.Ş. (Vakıf Participation Bank Incorporated).
