Mr. Cevahir was born in 1958 in Trabzon. He received his undergraduate degree from the Department of Construction/Business Administration at the University of Southwestern Louisiana, U.S., and his master’s degree from the Department of International Relations at Istanbul Ticaret University, Turkey.
Mr. Cevahir founded the Cevahir Group Incorporated in 1987, and has been serving as the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company since then.
He served as a Member and Vice President of the Board of Directors of MUSIAD (Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association) between 1992 and 2008, where he also served as a Member of the High Advisory Board since 2006. Additionally, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors of Çaykara and Dernekpazarı Education Foundation between 2006 and 2008. He has been one of the Founders of the Osmanlılar İlim İrfan Vakfı (Ottomans Science and Knowledge Foundation) since 1994, where he also served as the Vice President. He served as a Member of the Assembly of ITO (Istanbul Chamber of Commerce) since 2009, and as a Deputy of TOBB (the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) General Assembly since 2010. He served as the Deputy Chairman of DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) Libya Business Council and as the President of DEIK Saudi Arabia Business Council between 2014 and 2016. Furthermore, he has been serving as the Chairman of the Karadeniz Vakfı (Black Sea Foundation) since 2015, a Member of the Board of Directors of Istanbul Dünya Ticaret Merkezi A.Ş. (World Trade Center Istanbul Incorporated) since 2019, and the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Ticaret University since 2019.
Mr. Cevahir, who is married and has six children, speaks advanced English and intermediate Arabic.
