Dear Master Thesis Student, We would like to inform you about the thesis process. Thesis is a process carried out in 2 semesters in the 2nd year for a student who progresses in the normal period.
Thesis Process:
1. The student who takes the Thesis course from the OBS system will first meet with the faculty members of the relevant program and determine a thesis advisor according to the availability of the faculty member’s quota.
2. It is important to progress the process with the thesis advisor.
3. Following the academic calendar is important for procedures such as applying for thesis defense and the thesis submission process.

Article Obligation:
During the thesis process, it is essential to publish an article produced from the thesis and written together with the Thesis Advisor Faculty Member.
In order to apply for the thesis defense, a letter of acceptance must be received from the journal in which the article will be published and delivered to the institute, or the printed version of the article in the relevant journal must be delivered to the institute.
Plagiarism Report:
At the end of the thesis, the TURNITIN report regarding the plagiarism rate of the thesis is received by the thesis advisor.
Before the Thesis Defense Exam Originality Report is needed.
ARTICLE 5 – (2) In order for the thesis to be evaluated by the advisor and jury members outside the scope of plagiarism, the similarity rate specified in the report received after the reporting process made by the Plagiarism Detection Program must be at most 20% if the evaluation is made “excluding citations” and 30% if it is made “including citations”. should not pass. To the extent of similarity, all responsibility belongs to the student and his/her advisor. Theses that cannot meet these rates are not taken into the thesis defense. When calculating the similarity rate, publications made by the student regarding his thesis may be excluded.
