Our University will Train Qualified Personnel for the Jewellery Industry

A cooperation protocol was signed between Istanbul Ticaret University and Cevherun Kuyumculuk (Jewellery) in respect of the training program that is to be organized to train qualified personnel for the jewellery industry. The participants, who will successfully complete the training program, will be awarded certificates, as well. Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Abdül Halim Zaim, Cevherun Kuyumculuk founder Cevat Genç and one of our university academicians Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hanifi Parlar attended the respective signing ceremony held at Sütlüce Campus.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Zaim expressed his satisfaction due to contributing to worldwide branding and bringing trained personnel to the sector with this cooperation. Mr. Cevat Genç, the founder of Cevherun Kuyumculuk, emphasized that this signing ceremony is very valuable in terms of reflecting the meaning implied by their brand ‘Cevherun’, which means ‘talent school’, as well as of the efforts to keep this special profession, that is 24-carat gold craftsmanship, from disappearing, particularly taking into consideration that there is no more than a handful of craft master that can work 24-carat gold in Turkey.

Having been exporting to many countries, including the U.S., China and Hong Kong SAR, the founder of Cevherun Jewellery, Mr. Genç said, “We are happy and excited that this training will significantly contribute to solving the problem of lack of qualified personnel in the sector.”

According to the said protocol signed between Istanbul Ticaret University and Cevherun Kuyumculuk, participants will be entitled to receive a certificate from Istanbul Ticaret University after successful completion of the 96-hour training program. Each day of the training program will include 8 hours of training and will take one month overall.
