Istanbul Ticaret University Strengthened International Collaborations at EURIE 2026

Istanbul Ticaret University, as one of the main partners at EURIE 2026, laid the groundwork for new academic collaborations by bringing together international higher education stakeholders. The contacts made and Erasmus agreements signed during the summit have significantly contributed to our university’s goals of global mobility and internationalization.
Istanbul Ticaret University participated in the 11th Eurasian Higher Education Summit (EURIE 2026), organized in Istanbul by the Eurasian Universities Association (EURAS), where our university served as a key partner. At the summit, held at the Lütfi Kırdar International Congress and Exhibition Center, our university was represented at the highest level, and important contacts were made regarding international academic collaborations.
GLOBAL HIGHER EDUCATION AGENDA DISCUSSED
Bringing together universities, academics, higher education administrators, and industry representatives from various regions of the world, the summit featured hundreds of institutions from over 50 countries. The summit, which comprehensively addressed internationalization, academic collaborations, and current developments in higher education, provided a strong platform for global interaction. The event, which also featured Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Şekib Avdagiç as a speaker, contributed to the establishment of new partnerships.
HIGH-LEVEL REPRESENTATION AND INTENSIVE CONTACTS
Our university was represented at the summit by our Board of Trustees Chair Dr. İsrafil Kuralay, our Rector Prof. Dr. Necip Şimşek, and our Exchange Programs Coordinator Dr. Elif Nuray Yıldırım. Our Board of Trustees Chair Dr. İsrafil Kuralay and our Rector Prof. Dr. Necip Şimşek visited the booths of various universities, engaging in one-on-one discussions with international partners and exploring opportunities for collaboration.
INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES EXPANDED
Our university brought together international participants through the booth it opened as part of the summit. While discussions were held to develop academic collaboration opportunities, significant steps were taken to strengthen existing relationships and establish new partnerships.
INTERNATIONAL CONTACTS
The Exchange Programs Coordination Office and the International Office Coordination Office, representing our university at the fair, held meetings with various institutions and organizations to discuss the development of existing collaborations and the evaluation of new partnership opportunities.
FIRST STEP TOWARD A NEW ERASMUS AGREEMENT
As part of the summit and in line with Erasmus Blended Intensive Programs (BIP) activities, a bilateral Erasmus agreement was signed with Politehnica University of Timișoara. Additionally, agreements were reached to establish Erasmus agreements with the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, the Mediterranean University of Albania, and John von Neumann University. These developments have strengthened our university’s ability to participate in short-term mobility and joint intensive programs under the Erasmus framework and have made a significant contribution to our capacity for international academic mobility.
