Istanbul Ticaret University is Starting Their Artifical Intelligence Studies

Istanbul Ticaret University, signed a cooperation protocol with the Artifical Intelligence Policies Assosication in order to contribute public policies, together with university, private sector, civil society and public institutions get into partnerships with multi-stakeholder in the field of artificial intelligence studies to be held.
The cooperation protocol ceremony signed by the rector of the Istanbul Ticaret University Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu and The head of the AIPA Zafer Küçükşabanoğlu; The dean of the Communication Faculty Prof. Dr. Celalettin Aktaş, the director of the Communication Sciences and Internet Institute Prof. Dr. Füsun Alver, the Deputy Managing Directors of the Artifical Intelligence Policies Assosication (AIPA) Gökhan Varan and Dr. Şebnem Özdemir attend with their colleagues.
With the cooperation initiated; It is foreseen that by popularizing artificial intelligence studies in Turkey, it will lead the society to raise the awareness of public, create awareness, increase competence, provide financial and moral support to stakeholders through joint research at undergraduate and graduate level, and direct young people to participate in decisions. . – Making the processes of taking duties, authorities and responsibilities.
Taking the floor after the signing ceremony the rector of the Istanbul Commercial University Prof. Dr. Yücel OğurluOgurlu; “We believe that we will do very useful and successful works together. We have no doubt that we will achieve fruitful and tangible results with the synergy we will create with the knowledge and experience of the Artificial Intelligence Policy Association under the leadership of our Communication Faculty, Communication Sciences and Internet Institute.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Dr. Celalettin Aktaş stated that the signed cooperation will be very valuable for both university students and the society, and stated that a great deficiency will be filled with the inclusion of social sciences in artificial intelligence studies.
The head of the AIPA Zafer kucuksahanoglu stated that “Istanbul Ticaret University is an institution that has a vision, is open to change and transformation with fast steps and makes them happy, and said, “Collaborations excite us. We proved our vision by taking concrete steps right after we planned the first steps of this cooperation. Now is the time to fill these plans and contribute to our students.”
At the meeting, ideas were exchanged about the joint work that can be done on the Metaverse universe, one of the most important and current issues on the agenda. Activities that could generate interest in Metaverse were discussed among students, and it was decided to organize a panel titled “Metaverse: To Be or Not To Be” at Istanbul Ticaret University in March 2022. AIPA President Küçükşabanoğlu described the Metaverse universe as follows: it is the door to a world entering a new order. Talking about the effects of artificial intelligence in many fields such as economy, communication and law, Küçükşabanoğlu gave the good news of the studies to be done in other faculties.
With the cooperation of Istanbul Ticaret University and AIPA, it is aimed to create internship opportunities for university students in the near future, to organize events such as international panels, symposiums, conferences, and to provide scholarships for postgraduate and doctoral research on artificial intelligence.
