Textile and Fashion Design Department Technical Trip

The Textile and Fashion Design Department of Istanbul Ticaret University Faculty of Architecture and Design organized a technical trip to Empaş Emprime on Tuesday, March 1^st, 2022. The technical trip, which was carried out with a group of about 15 students, started with a meeting with company executives, followed by a tour of the design department and then the production department.

During the tour of the design department, first of all, the selection and design of the patterns were explained with visuals. Technical details were provided in the template creation and silk stretching units of the department, which has a different type of printing on each floor. Then, stages of transferring patterns to the template including the dark room stage and the photographic processing stage were explained. The trip continued with the tour of the production department. In the paint preparation unit, the processes of preparing the colors for production following the creation of the paint formulation were explained.

In the second part of the tour, the printing of the dye and fabric pieces prepared was carried out with the introduction and explanation of the machines in the production department. Following the introduction of the flock and embossing printing techniques in detail, the success awards won by the company were shown to our students. The trip ended with taking a commemorative group photo including the company executives and our students.
