The Program for Concentration in Artificial Intelligence in Social Processes and Systems
Starting from the next 2022-2023 academic year, “The Program for Concentration in Artificial Intelligence in Social Processes and Systems” will be carried into effect in both English and Turkish programs of the Department of Economics.
The objective of the Program is to decorate students with a formation knitted around artificial intelligence and related methods, one of the effective methods of the information age, with a solid theoretical foundation and high application value. By taking a series of courses ranging from programming to artificial intelligence algorithms and from modeling and simulation paradigms to economics and business intelligence, students will acquire “problem-solving” and “situation-improvement” skills, which have high functional value in a real-life context.
Participation in the Program will be on a voluntary basis. Students participated in the Program will be required to enroll in 8 compulsory courses and 4 optional courses. Students in the Department of Economics will be able to fulfill both their elective course obligation which require them to take 8 elective courses, by choosing 8 of the 12 elective courses available in the curriculum from among the courses offered in the Program and their obligations within the scope of the Program. In this way, the total number of courses they have to take for graduation will not increase.
Students who study in the English and Turkish programs of the Department of Economics and complete the Program for Concentration in Artificial Intelligence in Social Processes and Systems will be issued a reference letter by the Department, documenting the artificial intelligence formation they have acquired and the potential contributions of this formation to the business world.
