The 2024 General Assembly of IRCICA (Research Centre For Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA), an affiliated body of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) headquartered in Türkiye, was held online. Türkiye was represented at the meeting by IRCICA Board Member and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of our University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Said Yazıcıoğlu. In his speech at the General Assembly, Prof. Dr. Yazıcıoğlu stated that the month of Ramadan will be realized in a few days, and that this year’s Ramadan will be bittersweet due to the ongoing genocide brutality in Gaza. Stating that more than thirty thousand innocent children, women and people were martyred, and historical and cultural values and places of worship were brutally destroyed, Prof. Dr. Yazıcıoğlu said that IRCICA should definitely focus on this issue, along with the issues on its agenda, and added that he believes that efforts will be made to compensate for this merciless destruction within a plan. Emphasizing that Türkiye is making maximum efforts on this issue in every regional and international platform with all its resources, Prof. Dr. Yazıcıoğlu pointed out that all countries should take a more active role in this issue and emphasized that the double standards of countries that claim to be civilized in the face of this tragedy have been exposed.
