In today’s world, sustainability has become not only a necessity but also one of the fundamental elements of creative thinking and innovative design. With this awareness, our Industrial Design Department, in valuable collaboration with Rönesans Gayrimenkul ve Yatırım A.Ş. and Hilltown Küçükyalı Shopping Mall, enabled our students to produce original and functional designs by reevaluating quality waste materials.
Innovative Solutions Born from University-Industry Collaboration
This project, carried out under the guidance of the academic staff of the Industrial Design Department, stands out as a successful example of university-industry collaboration. In line with Rönesans Gayrimenkul ve Yatırım A.Ş.’s sustainability vision, the project, carried out with the support of Hilltown Küçükyalı Shopping Mall, aims to raise awareness by combining waste management and design power. 30 different products redesigned by Industrial Design Department students using an upcycling approach demonstrate the power of sustainable design.

Giving Waste a New Life Through the Power of Design
Within the scope of the project, students were taught not only the aesthetic and functional aspects of design, but also its environmental and social responsibility dimensions. As consumption habits change rapidly today, it is crucial for designers to incorporate sustainable solutions into production processes. This exhibition demonstrates that waste is not the end, but rather a new beginning through unique processes.
The Exhibition Meets Visitors at Hilltown Küçükyalı Shopping Mall
