Our Rector Prof. Dr. Oğurlu Paid Official Visits in Baku

Istanbul Ticaret University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu paid official visits in Azerbaijan, where he traveled on the occasion of the 8th Baku International Book Fair organized by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan. Prof. Dr. Oğurlu visited Azerbaijan as part of the delegation to Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) which participated in the Fair. In addition to attending the Fair, Prof. Dr. Oğurlu had high-level meetings with the representatives of various universities and institutions located in Baku. In this context, Prof. Dr. Oğurlu held meetings with Azerbaijan Diplomacy Academy (ADA) University, Baku State University (BDU) Faculty of Law, Azerbaijan Customs Academy, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Development Agency (KOBIA) and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Clubs Association (KOBSKA) and discussed the opportunities for cooperation between our university and the said institutions.
COOPERATION WITH AZERBAIJANI UNIVERSITIES WILL BE INCREASED
Prof. Dr. Oğurlu first visited ADA University, one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Azerbaijan, and met with Dr. Elkin Nurmammadov, Vice Rector for International and Academic Affairs of the university. In the meeting, it was agreed that the two universities will cooperate on ERASMUS projects, that Istanbul Ticaret University will participate in ADA University’s International Symposium on Administrative Law and Administrative Justice (ISALAJ2023), that projects will be developed jointly by the Continuing Education Centers of the two universities, that Istanbul Ticaret University will offer business diplomacy courses in Baku, and that joint activities will be carried out by the Application And Research Centers of the two universities.
The second meeting of Rector Prof. Dr. Oğurlu was with the Dean of BDU Faculty of Law Dr. Zaur Aliyev. In the meeting, issues such as organizing online English trainings by Istanbul Ticaret University, participation in ISALAJ2023, organizing certified trainings by Istanbul Ticaret University Continuing Education Center, being a stakeholder in EU projects, hosting BDU academicians at Istanbul Ticaret University were discussed. A protocol had been signed between Istanbul Ticaret University and BDU last year.
Prof. Dr. Oğurlu also met with the President of Azerbaijan Customs Academy Gulu Novruzov in Baku. In this meeting, issues such as holding joint trainings between the two institutions, cooperation on ERASMUS and partnership in EU projects were discussed. During his visit at Customs Academy, Prof. Dr. Oğurlu also visited the biggest simulation training laboratories in the region.
ISTANBUL TICARET UNIVERSITY’S EXPERIENCE WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO AZERBAIJAN
Another visit of Prof. Dr. Oğurlu was to KOBIA and KOBSKA. Within the scope of this visit, Prof. Dr. Oğurlu met with Hikmet Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of KOBIA Board of Directors, and Nigar Alasgarova, Chairman of KOBSKA Board of Directors. At the meeting, issues such as cooperating on internships and transferring the experience of Istanbul Ticaret University to these institutions were discussed.
During the visits, issues related to the implementation of the agreements signed in previous years, the developments and progress made in terms of cooperation were discussed. The university administrators met with Prof. Dr. Oğurlu emphasized the importance of Istanbul Ticaret University’s experience in terms of both the academic and the business worlds and underlined that their cooperation would make great contributions to Azerbaijan.
Prof. Dr. Oğurlu, who talked about the achievements and activities of Istanbul Ticaret University to the academicians and students who visited the fair at the ITO’s stand, held further talks on new cooperation opportunities.
