“Our goal is to be among the top 10”
‘The goal of becoming one of the top 10 universities’ left its mark on the traditional iftar (fast-breaking meal) events held with the participation of nearly 350 academic and administrative staff of Istanbul Ticaret University. Chairman of the Istanbul Ticaret University Board of Trustees Dr. İsrafil Kuralay, said: “I do not see any obstacles in our way to achieve the high goals set by our Rector Prof. Dr. Abdülhamit Avşar. Our Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) President Mr. Şekib Avdagiç and our ITO Board of Directors fully support these goals.”

Chairman of the Istanbul Ticaret University Board of Trustees Dr. İsrafil Kuralay, Istanbul Ticaret University Rector Prof. Dr. Abdulhamit Avşar, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hakan Hocaoğlu and Prof. Dr. Rahmi Deniz Özbay, Secretary General Mr. Erdal Cesar, as well as academicians, executive managers and employees, including faculty deans and department heads, attended the iftar events held at Sütlüce and Küçükyalı Campuses. Members of the Istanbul Ticaret University Board of Trustees, Chairman of the ITO Assembly Council Dr. Erhan Erken, Deputy Chairman of Istanbul Ticaret University Board of Trustees Mr. Yusuf Cevahir, Mr. Mehmet Develioğlu, Mr. Bilal Topçu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vahdettin Işık also attended the iftar event held at Sütlüce Campus.
Speaking at the traditional iftar dinner held with the participation of nearly 350 academicians and administrative staff, Istanbul Ticaret University Rector Prof. Dr. Abdulhamit Avşar thanked the Chairman of Istanbul Ticaret University Board of Trustees Dr. Kuralay, and the Members of the Board of Trustees, who have always stood by and supported the university in every issue, for their participation in the iftar event.
OUR GOAL IS TO BE IN THE TOP 10
Reminding the future plans and goals of Istanbul Ticaret University, Prof. Dr. Avşar stated that he is happy to see that the academic and administrative staff of the university also believe in the bright future of the university. Prof. Dr. Avşar said: “We have a dream to become one of the top 10 universities in Türkiye. To achieve this, we first would like to become one of the top 10 foundation universities in Türkiye. We may not be able to achieve our goal of becoming one of the top 10 universities in Türkiye right away, but we set out with faith and are working towards this goal.”
THERE IS NO OBSTACLE AHEAD
Stating that they are happy to meet with Istanbul Ticaret University staff on various occasions, Chairman of Istanbul Ticaret University Board of Trustees Dr. Kuralay noted that they would like to make these meetings more frequent. Dr. Kuralay said: “I see that there are no obstacles in our way to achieve the high goals set by our Rector. Our Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) President Mr. Şekib Avdagiç and our ITO Board of Directors fully support these goals.”
OPINIONS AND SUGGESTIONS WERE SHARED
After the iftar dinner, Chairman of Istanbul Ticaret University Board of Trustees Dr. Kuralay and Rector Prof Dr Avşar answered the questions of the academicians and administrative staff who attended the iftar event in an interactive conversation environment and listened to their suggestions and requests. Dr. Kuralay stated that they consider the management of the university as a whole, and that everyone, including the Board of Trustees, academicians and administrative staff, contribute to Istanbul Ticaret University and that everyone’s efforts are very valuable.”
