With the Career Day, thousands of students embarked on the business world
110 pioneering companies of Türkiye met with young talents at the Career Day organized by Istanbul Ticaret University Career Center. More than 8 thousand students and graduates had the opportunity to meet the leading companies of the business world and take the first step into the business world.
Türkiye’s largest and most attended university Career Day event was held at Istanbul Ticaret University Sütlüce Campus. A total of 110 pioneering companies of Türkiye from 10 sectors, ranging from software to transportation, from the food and beverage industry to informatics, from clothing to tourism, took part in the event with their stands and human resources officials. While senior officials of the companies came together with university students and graduates, their human resources officials exchanged information with Istanbul Ticaret students and participants on important issues such as recruitment processes, internship opportunities and career processes.
UNIVERSITY-BUSINESS COOPERATION
The event started with the ribbon cutting by the Chairman of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) Assembly Council Dr. Erhan Erken, Chairman of the Istanbul Ticaret University Board of Trustees Dr. Israfil Kuralay, Istanbul Ticaret University Rector Prof. Dr. Abdulhamit Avşar, Istanbul Ticaret University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Rahmi Deniz Özbay, Istanbul Ticaret University Secretary General Mr. Erdal Cesar and Istanbul Ticaret University Career Center Director Mr. Uğur Kaya. ITO President Mr. Şekib Avdagiç, who could not attend the Career Day due to the intensity of his program, conveyed a success message.
Making a speech before the ribbon cutting ceremony, Dr. Erhan Erken noted that the most valuable job of universities is to raise individuals and stated that he was happy to see the cooperation between the university, industry and business world within the scope of the event held today. Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Kuralay also noted that the participating companies are ITO members and said that they made university-industry cooperation more possible with the Career Day event. Rector Prof. Dr. Avşar thanked the participating companies, stating that he believes that their relations with the companies will be strengthened within the framework of the education model that they implement as Istanbul Ticaret University, which offers theory and practice together.
A SAPLING WAS DONATED FOR EACH COMPANY THAT PARTICIPATED IN THE EVENT
Following the Career Day event, Dr. Kuralay, Prof. Dr. Avşar, Dr. Erken, member of the ITO Assembly Council Mr. Hızır Onur Yavuz, Mr. Erdal Cesar and Mr. Uğur Kaya visited the stands of each participating company and received information. In addition, certificates of sapling donation made to the General Directorate of Forestry on behalf of each participating company were presented to the participating companies. The event not only offered career opportunities but also contributed to environmental sustainability.
MORE THAN 3000 JOB AND INTERNSHIP APPLICATIONS WERE SUBMITTED
A unique opportunity was offered to students and graduates with Career Day event. More than 8,500 students and graduates, who came into direct contact with industry leaders, had the chance to learn about internship and job opportunities and took an important step towards achieving their career goals. More than 3000 internship and job applications were submitted during the event.
