Common Mind in Traffic Meetings have started

The first of the “Common Mind in Traffic Meetings” was held under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ilıcalı, the Director of Istanbul Ticaret University Transportation Systems Application and Research Center and the President of the Association of Common Mind in Traffic (TRAP).

The effects of traffic safety on human life were discussed at the meeting, which was attended by the representatives of the General Directorate of Security Traffic Department, the Union of Municipalities of Turkey, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Traffic Division and relevant non-governmental organizations and many other interested parties.

At the meeting, experts and related parties expressed their views on issues such as pedestrian and bicycle accessibility, sustainable transportation, the use of E-Scooters and its effect on traffic safety, safe bicycle paths, ensuring traffic safety by means of smart transportation systems, vehicle sharing and the use of the latest technology in vehicle and road networks, determination of black spots by local governments and notification of the public on these black spots.

Noting that the most important cause of traffic accidents is human error, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ilıcalı stated that it is necessary to increase the studies that fall within the scope of education, traffic consciousness and awareness.

It was emphasized that such meetings, which prioritize traffic safety and support the projects and studies that have been carried out and are being carried out in order to reduce the number of fatal/injurious traffic accidents in our country to zero, will continue.
