Dersaadet Library: A Meeting Point of History and Knowledge for Students of the University
Students of our university have the opportunity to conduct research at Dersaadet Library, located in the historical Liman Inn, which was restored by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO). The library provides access to rich resources and a peaceful working environment in an atmosphere that carries the spirit of history.
Dersaadet Library, which was established by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and opened its doors last year, offers a research and learning environment to our students, academics and researchers. The library, which contains many valuable contents from rare works to current resources, aims to increase the quality of academic studies.
RICH COLLECTIONS AND DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY
In addition to its extensive collections on trade, economy, finance and business, Dersaadet Library has a library automation system that meets international standards and offers researchers ease of digital access. The library offers a wide range of resources, from Ottoman artifacts to engravings and photographs, from archaeological content to the works of local and foreign authors who shed light on the history of Istanbul.
Additionally, thousands of books, newspapers and magazines in Ottoman, French, Turkish, English and German languages can be accessed digitally at archive.ito.org.tr. Istanbul-themed collections include works that reflect the city’s commercial culture.
INNOVATIVE CONTRIBUTIONS TO ACADEMIC STUDIES
The library aims to bring an innovative dimension to academic studies with its current resources as well as rare works. The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce publications collection includes thousands of publications that shed light on the history of the Turkish business world. Periodicals from the Ottoman period to the present day have also been digitized and are available to researchers.
EASY ACCESS WITH RESERVATION SYSTEM
The library is open between 09:00-19:00 on weekdays and Saturdays. Istanbul Commerce University students, academics and administrative staff who want to use the library can easily make reservations through the corporate website. Users can benefit from Reading Room 1, 2, 3 and Digital Library options. Specialist librarians should be consulted for access to the rare works collection.
THE EXPERIENCE OF KİTAP İSTANBUL AND WORKING IN A HISTORICAL ATMOSPHERE
Located in Liman Han, which reflects the spirit of the historical peninsula, Dersaadet Library offers a peaceful environment with its spacious workspaces with modern infrastructure. Located on the ground floor of the library, Kitap İstanbul welcomes researchers and readers with its new generation bookstore concept.
