The exhibition, which includes the conceptual and practical works of our university’s Graduate Education Institute students on the conservation of modern heritage buildings, met with art lovers at the Küçükyalı Campus.
The works carried out within the scope of the Conservation of Modern Architectural Heritage course offered at our University’s Graduate Education Institute were presented to art lovers for the third time at the Küçükyalı Campus. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Necip Şimşek, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Berk Ayvaz, Institute Vice Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Ceylan, the instructor of the course, Faculty Member Dr. Aylin Şentürk, academicians and students attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition prepared by the students who took the course in the 2024 Spring semester.

CONCEPTUAL STUDIES OF STUDENTS
As part of the course, students conceptually addressed the relationship between modernism and conservation and conducted detailed studies on the Modern World Heritage Site of their choice. Each student analyzed the conservation value of the site they chose, the practices implemented, and the development processes, and developed suggestions for more effective conservation of the site.
STUDYING THE MODERN HERITAGE SITES
As a result of their studies, students gained skills in gathering information, analyzing, evaluating and presenting information about Modern World Heritage Sites. In this context, students took an important step towards contributing to the literature with their conclusions about modernism and conservation and raising awareness in society about the preservation and survival of cultural assets.

MODERN STRUCTURES AS WORLD HERITAGE
Modern heritage is addressed within the framework of the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, which challenges the understanding that only structures with older construction dates should be protected and offers a broader perspective on these structures. In this context, the World Heritage Center stands out as an institution that incorporates innovative concepts into the conservation literature.
EXHIBITION IS OPEN TO VISITS
The exhibition, which includes the works carried out within the framework of the Conservation of Modern Architectural Heritage Course, can be visited on the ground floor of Block C, Küçükyalı Campus of our University.
