Opportunity of Lateral Transfer and Becoming a Special Student for Students Who are Victims of the UKRAINE War

You can find information on the opportunity of lateral transfer to, and becoming a special student in, the higher education institutions in our country, which are granted due to the situation caused by the Ukraine-Russia war to students who were studying in higher education institutions in Ukraine, both citizens of the Republic of Turkey and foreign students alike here.

Students who will take advantage of the said opportunities must have taken the ÖSYS (Student Selection and Placement System)/YKS(Higher Education Institutions Exam) exam held in the year of registration. Additionally, in the case of certain undergraduate programs, students must have been successful in the ÖSYS/YKS exam by being ranked within the range required by the respective undergraduate program.

On the other hand, students interested in enrolling in undergraduate programs where there is no requirement to be ranked within a certain range in the ÖSYS/YKS exam must instead have achieved the lowest base score mandated in the equivalent diploma programs in the relevant year in Turkey. Lastly, students interested in enrolling in undergraduate programs based on special talents must have achieved the lowest score announced by the relevant university for the respective special talent program in the ÖSYS/YKS exam of the relevant year.

The relevant quotas were determined and announced by our university. Our university will evaluate the lateral transfers and announce the students who will be eligible for a lateral transfer along with the students put on the waiting list, which will be half as many as the eligible students, on the university’s website until the end of working hours on April 20th, 2022. The students who will be included in the final list will be able to register between 21st and 22nd April, 2022.

In the event that the announced quotas are not filled, the reserve candidate list will be announced on April 23rd, 2022, and the students who will be included in the said list will be able to register until the end of working hours on April 25th, 2022. Those who do not register on the announced dates will be deemed to have given up their right to register.

Students who will register as a lateral transfer student will have to submit the documents proving their studentship, YKS exam document, international exam document, country entry-exit document, passport, transcript, and student certificate.
