President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the winners of the 2025 Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards. Professor Dr. Süleyman Seyfi Öğün, Faculty Member of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Istanbul Commerce University, was awarded the Grand Prize in the field of Science and Culture.
The recipients of the 2025 Culture and Arts Grand Awards, presented by the Presidency to individuals who have made significant contributions to Turkey’s cultural and intellectual life, were announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the October 29 Special Program.
This year’s recipient of the Science and Culture Award, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Seyfi Öğün, ranks among the leading figures in the field of political science in Turkey thanks to his academic expertise and intellectual contributions.

Prof. Dr. Süleyman Seyfi Öğün, a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at our university’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, continues his research in the fields of Social and Human Sciences, Political Science, and Public Administration.

Prof. Dr. Öğün has made valuable contributions to the development of political thought in Turkey with the 11 books he has published to date. Prof. Dr. Öğün, who analyzes modern political theories, ideologies, social transformations, and Turkey’s intellectual tradition in his books, is highly respected both in the academic world and among the general public.
