Prof. Dr. Rıdvan Şentürk has been appointed as the new Dean of the Faculty of Communication

Prof. Dr. Rıdvan Şentürk, Head of the Department of Visual Communication Design, has been appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul Commerce University, succeeding Prof. Dr. Celalettin Aktaş. During the ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. Necip Şimşek wished Prof. Dr. Rıdvan Şentürk success in his new role and thanked Prof. Dr. Aktaş for his services.
The Dean Handover Ceremony of the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul Commerce University was held at the Senate Hall on the Sütlüce Campus, hosted by our Rector Prof. Dr. Necip Şimşek. The ceremony was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hanifi Parlar and Prof. Dr. Berk Ayvaz, Secretary General Erdal Cesar, Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Serkan Çankaya, Director of the Graduate School and Head of the Department of International Trade and Finance Assoc. Prof. Dr. Başak Erdem, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Communication Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dr. Gözde Sunal Kızıl, Head of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising Prof. Dr. Hilal Özden Özdemir Çakır, and Head of Corporate Communications Recep Yeter.
RECTOR PROF. DR. ŞİMŞEK: “IT WILL BE A WONDERFUL PERIOD”
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Şimşek expressed his well-wishes for the handover, stating: “I would like to thank Prof. Dr. Celalettin Aktaş, who has completed approximately six and a half years as Dean. I also wish success to Prof. Dr. Rıdvan Şentürk. I believe that with this transition, our faculty will move even further ahead.”
PROF. DR. AKTAŞ: “WE PUT PEOPLE AND STUDENTS AT THE CENTER”
Emphasizing that they focused on people and students throughout their term, Prof. Dr. Aktaş said: “We worked diligently with our students and academic staff for six years. I believe we have taken our faculty to the top. I would like to thank our management for their unwavering support, as well as all academic and administrative staff.
PROF. DR. RIDVAN ŞENTÜRK: “WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK WITH HARMONY”
Expressing his pleasure in assuming the role, the new Dean Prof. Dr. Rıdvan Şentürk stated: “It is very important that our faculty functions in harmony as a whole. We will strive to ensure that the academic and administrative structure continues to function in an orderly and systematic manner. We aim to advance our faculty together.”
THE DUTY HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY HANDED OVER
Following the speeches, Prof. Dr. Celalettin Aktaş officially handed over the deanship to Prof. Dr. Rıdvan Şentürk. The ceremony concluded with participants extending their best wishes for the new term.
