THE TURKIC WORLD GAVE GREAT SUPPORT TO THE IDEA OF REPUBLIC
Our Rector, in his opening speech, reminded that when the Republic was declared on October 29th, 1923 with shouts of “Long live the Republic”, the Republic of Türkiye was the only independent Turkic homeland in the world and said, “We know that the Turkic World gave great support to the idea and phenomenon of the Republic. Prof. Dr. Avşar said, “During our historical and literary readings of the founding years of the Republic, we witness a very important historical period of Türkiye on the one hand, and Turkestan and Turkic societies on the other. We witness how strong the ethnic consciousness and feeling between Türkiye and the Turkic World is. After the long years of separation, it was very important to know and experience the consciousness and excitement of being cognates and brothers and sisters, with the feeling that Türkiye was the first land to go to when the opportunity arose.”
WE BELIEVE IN THE TÜRKİYE CENTURY
Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Mr. Jafarov, stated that he was honored to participate in the panel on behalf of the Organization, and that the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye in 1923 was a source of inspiration for all Turks, and said, “The Republic of Türkiye was established as a world state.” Mr. Jafarov said, “We wholeheartedly believe that the next century will be the century of Türkiye.” Consul General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, Mr. Samaridinov, stated that the two countries act on the basis of the concept of “brotherly politics” rather than interests, that Türkiye was the first country to recognize Uzbekistan and congratulate its independence, and that common history, common language and common civilization require acting together.
