As a result of the application processes coordinated by the Istanbul Commerce University Technology Transfer Office (TTO), our students achieved significant success in two different programs. TUSAŞ – A celebration program was organized by the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at the Hezarfen Campus in Küçükyalı for projects accepted into the Lift Up Industry-Focused License Completion Projects Program and awarded support under the TÜBİTAK BİGG 1812 Investment-Based Entrepreneurship Support Program.
Following an intensive work process coordinated by Istanbul Commerce University’s Technology Transfer Office (TTO), two significant success stories from our students’ industry-focused undergraduate final projects and the entrepreneurship ecosystem were honored at a ceremony. The program was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Berk Ayvaz, Technology Transfer Office Coordinator Dr. Assistant Professor İlker Köse, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sezgin, Dr. Assistant Professor Sevcan Kahraman, Lecturer Dr. Dilara İçkecan, TTO experts, and students.

PROF. DR. AYVAZ: “WE ARE EXPERIENCING A TRANSFORMATION THAT TAKES KNOWLEDGE FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE”
In his speech during the program, Prof. Dr. Ayvaz stated that the projects being carried out are not merely applications or formal processes, but serve a critical function in terms of transferring knowledge from theory to practice. Prof. Dr. Ayvaz emphasized that students, particularly in engineering and other fields, should not limit their knowledge to theory alone, stressing the importance of projects that confront real-world problems.
Prof. Dr. Ayvaz pointed out that students’ willingness to tackle problems arising from real production environments is a bold and ambitious step, noting that such programs offer students valuable experiences. He stated that with the introduction of compulsory courses at the university, project culture has become widespread, and there has been a high level of voluntary participation in workshops and training sessions.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ayvaz emphasized that a large number of project applications had been received in a short period of time, and that this number represented a significant leap compared to previous years. He stated, “Perhaps we have achieved in one year what would normally take 25 years.”

ASSOC. PROF. DR. KÖSE: “WITH THE GROWTH OF THE TTO, SUCCESSES ARE TURNING INTO A CHORUS”
Assistant Professor Köse emphasized that the achievements were the result of long-term effort and teamwork. Assistant Professor Köse congratulated both the students and the entire academic staff who supported the process, noting that the students, faculty advisors, and TTO team contributed to the process with dedication.
Assistant Professor Köse emphasized the importance of TTOs exceeding a certain scale at universities, stating that even after years of operation, small structures with only a few employees cannot achieve this level of output. Dr. Köse stated that the TTO has grown rapidly in terms of quality and quantity thanks to the strategic decisions taken at our university and the strong will of the Rectorate, noting that the work carried out has resulted in an increasing number of projects.
In his speech, Assistant Professor Köse stated that a large number of students were involved in the projects and that a significant portion of our academics played an active role in the mentoring and support processes. He emphasized that this dynamic would eventually transform into a culture of success that would be heard “in chorus.”

TUSAŞ – SUCCESS IN THE “AUTOCLAVE RECIPE SHARING SYSTEM” WITHIN THE LIFT UP PROGRAM
Under the coordination of TTO Specialist Ayşe Bera Silan, as part of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) – Lift Up Industry-Focused Bachelor’s Thesis Projects Program, our students from the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Aleyna Kay, Arife Nesibe Nur Kızıltoprak, and Betül Yıldırım achieved a significant success.
The team, whose academic advisor is Assistant Professor Sevcan Kahraman, qualified for the program with their project titled “Autoclave Recipe Sharing System.”

TÜBİTAK BİGG 1812 PROGRAM: 900,000 TL IN SUPPORT AND EXCELLENCE SEAL SUCCESS
Under the coordination of TTO Specialist Ayşe Cengiz, our Engineering Faculty students achieved a new entrepreneurial success within the scope of the TÜBİTAK BİGG 1812 Investment-Based Entrepreneurship Support Program.
The project, supervised by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sezgin, Lecturer Dr. Dilara İçkecan, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmet Fevzi Bozkurt, saw our students Kazım Kutay Sarsılmaz, Umut Mehmet Erdem, Hasan Enes Yılmaz, and Mehmet Sadettin Efe, have earned the right to receive 900,000 TL in funding and also win the “Seal of Excellence” for their project titled “LEVIT (Levitate It).”
During the program, Commendation Plaques symbolizing the students’ achievements were presented by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Berk Ayvaz and Technology Transfer Office Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker Köse.
As a university, we congratulate all our students and wish them continued success.
