
Our university organized the “Art Journey in Plasterboard” event to contribute to the professional and artistic development of architecture and interior architecture students. Students met with sector representatives and practiced the traditional marbling art on plasterboards at the event.
Our university organized the “Art Journey in Plasterboard” event for architecture and interior architecture students. The event was organized at Küçükyalı Campus to contribute to the professional development of students and to provide them with a new perspective on design processes. In the event organized by Nur Sümeyye Yalçın Koçak, Lecturer at the Department of Architecture, students came together with sector representatives.
ACADEMIC PERSPECTIVE ON SECTOR DYNAMICS
In the first part of the event, a seminar was given by Eylem Oğuz, Marketing Manager of Absalçı, one of the most important companies in the sector, and Pınar Akaslan Erdoğdu, Master Architect. In the seminar, the use of materials in architecture, plasterboard systems and innovative applications in the sector were discussed.
THE MEET OF TRADITIONAL ART WITH DESIGN
Following the seminar, traditional marbling art was practiced on plasterboards. The marbling art workshop was held under the guidance of Marbling Artist Ayda Aktay. In the workshop, students combined a traditional art form with architectural design.
FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE: AN INNOVATIVE EXPERIENCE
The event, which was organized with the participation of students from the Departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design as well as academicians, ensured that theoretical knowledge was supported by practical applications. The event aimed to raise awareness of plasterboard systems and traditional arts.
