Istanbul Ticaret University has taken an important step toward strengthening its academic cooperation with universities across the Turkic world by successfully implementing the first mobilities of the Orhun Exchange Program, which was launched for the first time in the 2025–2026 academic year.
Within the scope of the program, the university realized its first teaching mobility in Azerbaijan and its first outgoing student mobility in Kazakhstan, marking a significant milestone in its internationalization efforts.

FIRST TEACHING MOBİLITY CONDUCTED IN AZERBAİJAN
As part of the Orhun Exchange Program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Ceylan, a faculty member of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Istanbul Ticaret University and Director of the Vocational School, carried out the university’s first teaching mobility. Between 29 September and 3 October, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ceylan visited Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, where he delivered lectures and shared his academic knowledge and professional experience with students.

ACADEMIC AND INSTITUTIONAL MEETINGS STRENGTHEN COOPERATION
In addition to teaching activities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ceylan held a series of academic and institutional meetings during his visit. He met with Vice Rector Prof. Nargiz Javad gizi Abdullayeva, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Information Technologies Sabir Baladin oglu Mammadov, Orhun Program Coordinator Konul Shirinova, as well as many academics and students.
During these meetings, potential areas for academic cooperation, joint research projects, and faculty exchange opportunities were discussed, laying the groundwork for future collaboration between the two institutions.

A STEP FORWARD IN INTERNATIONALIZATION
The academic engagements carried out within the scope of the visit are expected to contribute significantly to the development of joint projects and faculty exchange programs between Istanbul Ticaret University and Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction in the coming years.

FIRST OUTGOING STUDENT MOBILITY UNDER THE ORHUN EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Alongside academic mobility, Istanbul Ticaret University also implemented its first outgoing student mobility within the framework of the Orhun Exchange Program. Mertcan Deliklitaş, a student from the Department of Visual Communication Design at the Faculty of Communication, began his studies at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau State University in Kazakhstan during the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 academic year.

INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE AND CULTURAL INTERACTION
During the mobility period, Mertcan Deliklitaş attended various courses at the Department of Fine Arts and Design at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau State University. This experience enabled him to enhance his professional knowledge and skills while gaining valuable international academic and cultural exposure.
Upon successfully completing the program, Deliklitaş will return to Istanbul Ticaret University, have his completed courses recognized, and continue his education at his home institution.

STRENGTHENING ACADEMIC TIES ACROSS THE TURKIC WORLD
Through these first academic and student mobilities under the Orhun Exchange Program, Istanbul Ticaret University aims to further strengthen academic collaboration with higher education institutions throughout the Turkic world and expand the scope of the program in the coming periods.
