The professional development training titled “OUP Nexus 2025 Aligned with Growth – Comprehensive Language Systems and Quality Assurance,” organized by Oxford University Press and bringing together administrators and faculty members from English Preparation Programs and Foreign Language Schools across Turkey, was hosted by our University. On Saturday, November 29, 2025, the program, hosted by our University at the Eminönü Ahi Çelebi Campus in Eminönü, comprehensively addressed current approaches to language education and academic quality processes.

CONTENT FOCUSED ON ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT
The program, implemented in collaboration with our University’s Continuing Education Center and the English Preparatory School Coordination, aimed to share current practices in English language teaching and contribute to the professional development of academic staff. The event, which was attended by approximately 60 teaching staff from five different cities, as well as coordinators and directors of English preparatory programs and foreign language colleges, provided an opportunity to evaluate best practices in the field on a common ground.

MEASUREMENT, EVALUATION, AND ACCREDITATION WERE DISCUSSED
The first session of the training was conducted by Zeynep Ürkün, an expert in assessment and evaluation, and Mehtap Çiçen, an expert in language education. The session addressed assessment and evaluation principles aimed at improving quality in English preparatory programs, as well as accreditation processes in education. Current approaches to exam reliability, standardization models, and data-driven decision-making processes were discussed during the session.

PRACTICAL WORKSHOP WAS HELD
In the second part of the program, a workshop was organized in which all participants played an active role. Participants prepared posters by working in groups based on the information they had acquired. The practical workshop provided participants with an effective learning environment in terms of transferring theoretical knowledge into practice.
