Istanbul Ticaret University was established in 2001 by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce with the aim of bringing Turkey’s deep-rooted commercial tradition into the academic sphere.

The Department of Economics (English) operates with the mission of educating individuals who can understand the economic issues faced by Turkey and the world, think analytically, evaluate current economic developments, and develop policy solutions. The medium of instruction is English, and the program integrates not only theoretical foundations but also applied courses and field analyses, enabling students to grasp contemporary economic dynamics.
