Prof. Dr. Abdullah Avey Made Academic Visits in Baku

Prof Dr Abdullah H Sofiyev (Avey), faculty member at the Mathematics Undergraduate Program at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, attended the International Space Sciences Congress in Azerbaijan and made various academic visits.
Prof. Dr. Avey first gave a lecture titled “The path from mathematics to mechanics: problems and perspectives” at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, where he studied between 1976 and 1980. Before Prof. Dr. Avey’s speech, Prof. Dr. Avey’s teacher, Prof. Dr. Malik Cebrailov, talked about his memories of his student Prof. Dr. Avey and noted that they are happy to host him at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. After Prof. Dr. Malik Cebrailov, Prof. Dr. Avey’s academician and journalist friends also shared their memories of Prof. Dr. Avey.
Prof. Dr. Avey’s second stop in Azerbaijan was Azerbaijan State Architecture and Civil Engineering University, which he visited on October 3rd, 2023. Prof. Dr. Avey shared his experiences with academicians and students of the Azerbaijan State Architecture and Civil Engineering University, where he also made a presentation titled “New generation composites: Modeling, applications and expectations”.
Upon the invitation of Rector Prof. Dr. Yagub Piriyev, Prof. Dr. Avey visited Baku Engineering University on October 5th, 2023. Prof. Dr. Avey met with academicians and students here, and shared the steps of his academic journey and his experiences with the students. Then he gave a lecture titled “Functionally graded materials: modeling and applications”.
The International Astronomy Congress, which has been held 73 times before, was hosted this year by Azerbaijan in Baku between October 2nd and 6th, 2023. Baku Diaspora Committee invited famous academicians living abroad to the Congress, including Prof. Dr. Avey. Prof. Dr. Avey presented a paper titled “Modeling of Functionally Graded Coatings and Applications in Sandwich Structures” at the Congress.
