Enabling Expression Dynamics in Automatic Face Analysis |
Konuşmanın Özeti (İngilizce)
What exactly happens to your face when you smile? Computer analysis of facial expressions reveals interesting patterns whereby a computer can tell for example whether a smile is real or faked. The face is a rich source of social signals, and research in social signal processing creates new ways of automatically reading the human face, with attention to subtle expressions and dynamics. In this talk I will describe automatic spontaneity detection for human smiles, as well as an automatic age estimation system that uses smile dynamics. We have recorded spontaneous and posed enjoyment smiles of hundreds of visitors to the NEMO Science Centre in Amsterdam, thus creating the most comprehensive smile database ever: the UvA-NEMO Smile Database (www.uva-nemo.org). I will discuss our recently published findings (ECCV'12, ACM Multimedia'12) on this publicly available database.
