Career Planning

Career Planning Center of Istanbul Commerce University exists to contribute to individual development of the students with a view to preparing them to the business world after graduation, and to guide them in taking a career route that will lead to success.

The primary purpose of the Career Planning Center is to help our students to find employment in line with their knowledge, skills, interests and values.

In this respect we strive to ensure that;

  1. They become aware of the importance of getting to know themselves and making career plans accordingly,

  2. They receive information regarding the fields of work, departments, responsibilities, the universal characteristics of the sector, and its future,

  3. They become aware of the qualifications, skills, and personality traits required per sector,

  4. They develop their skills through workshops,

  5. They get to know about the professions which will become important in the short term,

  6. They receive information about the stages of the career planning process,

  7. They meet the HR directors and representatives of the companies, agencies, and institutions, during their studies,

  8. They receive information regarding company and corporate policies,

  9. They receive information about the work environment, conditions, career opportunities and benefits offered at companies and institutions,

  10. They can directly file their internship applications to the relevant departments of companies, agencies / institutions,

  11. They can introduce themselves directly during the interviews,

  12. They receive professional communication experience before graduation, and they develop personal skills regarding their fields, in order to ensure a safe and conscious step towards their careers.

The Career Planning Center organizes "Career Events" in the spring semester of each year, in order to provide both parties with more realistic expectations regarding each other through the introduction and communication of the recent graduates and students who are about to graduate in the heyday of the discovery process on the one hand, and the firms seeking prospective employees on the other.

The career events allow the students to receive information on the industry through face-to-face meetings with representatives and directors of sectors and various groups of profession, and to have their interviews within the campus. 

The Activities and Programs Planned as the Career Planning Center;

  1. The Career Fair and Career Days (Sector and firm promotions, job applications by the students and provision of information about enterprises),

  2. Human Resources Activities (interview techniques, CV preparation, effective communication techniques, body language, workshops),

  3. Seminars and Conferences (by experts and leaders from the business and professional world),

  4. Surveys regarding the career plans of the students, on the basis of academic data (annual),

  5. Orientation programs for freshmen,

  6. Activities for the graduates.
